IELTS Letter Writing : Advertisement in an Australian magazine

📍 Surrey, BC

You have seen an advertisement in an Australian magazine for someone to live with a family for six months and look after their six- year-old child.

Write a letter to the parents. In your letter:

  • Explain why you would like the job
  • give details of why you would be a suitable person to employ
  • say how you would spend your free time while you are in Australia

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing this letter to express my interest to work as a caregiver for your six year old child.

I love children and spending time with them. Taking care of children gives me a sense of fulfillment and I feel very rejuvenated by mingling with them. Moreover, I have good experience in raising young children. I have been taking care of my niece since she was 2 months old.

As I am certified care giver, I consider myself to be a suitable candidate for this job. I have thorough knowledge about babysitting and I know how to feed, bathe and dress up kids. Besides, I am an extrovert and calm person, so your child will have no problem to mix up with me.

Since I am a new immigrant in Australia, I would like to spend my spare time in exploring new places, cultures and learn about different nationalities. Along with this, I would like to take your kid to different games in our leisure time.

I hope to hear a positive response from your side.

Yours sincerely,
—your name here—
