The pie charts illustrate the data on people’s ages in 2000 and predictions for 2050 in two countries, Yemen and Italy.

Overall, it is apparent that in both the countries same trend is predicted with increase in older citizens and fall in the youngest age group.

In 2000 half of the Yemeni population were under 14, however this is predicted to decline to just 37% by 2050. On the contrary, the population that is in age bracket 15-59 is envisaged to jump to 57.3% in 2050 from 46.3% in 2000. Likewise, citizens above 60 will increase by 2% from 3.6% in 2000 to 5.7% in 2050.

The largest group for Italy was 15-59 years accounting to 61.6%, but this is projected to plummet to around 46% in 2050. Moreover, age group under 14 is predicted to follow a similar trend and will drop to 11.5% in 2050 from 14.3% in 2000. On the other hand, people who are over 60 will double from 24% in 2000 to about 42.3% in 2050.
