CELPIP – English Proficiency test
The CELPIP (Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program) is a test that measures a candidate’s English abilities for a variety of routine conversations. The CELPIP- English Proficiency test has two versions:

The CELPIP highlights:
- The CELPIP is a fully computer delivered test.
- The complete test is taken in a single sitting.
- The CELPIP assesses an individual’s Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking abilities in English.
- The CELPIP is accepted by a number of immigration, professional and academic organizations.
- The CELPIP results are available online in 8 business days. The scores can be made available in 3 business days by selecting Express Rating.
- The fee for the CELPIP- General is approximately CAD $280 (fee varies by location) and for the CELPIP- General LS is approximately CAD $ 195 (fee varies by location).
DESCRIPTION OF CELPIP LEVELS
For each section of the CELPIP-General Test and the CELPIP-General LS Test, a candidate gets a CELPIP level.
The Listening and the Reading scores are automatically evaluated by a computer whereas the Speaking and the Writing scores are given after evaluation by the trained evaluators.
The CELPIP level can also be described as a CLB level and the following tables describe them.
