Introduction (5 minutes)

Reading (10 minutes)

  1. Read & Complete (Easy): Fill in the blank with the most suitable word: The weather is so pleasant today, it’s perfect for a picnic in the (park).
  2. Read & Select (Medium): A short email appears. What is the purpose of the email? (a) Request a meeting, (b) Offer congratulations, (c) Apply for a job

Listening (15 minutes)

  1. Listen & Select (Easy): Listen to a short advertisement for a clothing store. What type of sale is being advertised? (a) Summer sale, (b) Back-to-school sale, (c) Holiday sale
  2. Listen & Type (Medium): Listen to a news report about a scientific discovery. Briefly type the key finding of the report (maximum 10 words).

Writing (10 minutes)

  1. Interactive Reading (Medium): A news article about the benefits of meditation will be displayed. You’ll be asked to:
    • Highlight the benefits of meditation mentioned in the article.
    • Identify a potential drawback of meditation (based on your understanding).

Speaking (10 minutes)

  1. Read Aloud (Easy): Read the sentence aloud clearly and accurately: “She traveled across continents to pursue her dream career.”
  2. Speak About the Photo (Medium): Describe a photo showing a group of people working on a project together. Focus on what they might be doing and how they might be collaborating (30 seconds to prepare, 60 seconds to speak).

Writing & Speaking Sample (10 minutes)

Writing (5 minutes)

  • You are given a prompt: “Describe a time you overcame a challenge.” Write a short essay explaining the situation, the challenges you faced, and how you overcame them.

Speaking (3 minutes)

  • You are given a similar prompt: “Describe a time you overcame a challenge.” Briefly speak about the same situation you wrote about, elaborating on your thoughts and feelings during the experience.

Remember, this is just a sample. The actual DET may include different question formats and difficulty levels.
