IELTS cue card picnic spot : Answer -1
One of my favourite public recreation spots is Redwood Park in Surrey, British Columbia. It’s a sprawling park with a variety of things to offer visitors. The main draw is the vast area of towering redwoods – it’s incredible to be surrounded by these majestic trees, some hundreds of years old! There are well-maintained walking paths that wind through the redwoods, perfect for a peaceful stroll or a jog. For families, there’s a fantastic playground with climbing structures and slides, and a large grassy field perfect for frisbees, soccer games, or just relaxing with a picnic blanket.
Redwood Park attracts a diverse crowd. You’ll see families with young children enjoying the playground, dog walkers taking their furry friends for a sniff around, and groups of friends having a barbecue on a sunny day. It’s a great place to get some fresh air, enjoy nature, and relax amidst the beauty of the redwoods. Whether you’re a local resident or just visiting Surrey, Redwood Park is definitely worth checking out!

“Ah, remember that hidden little park by the river we stumbled upon last summer? The one with the giant oak tree that provided the most perfect shade for our picnic blanket? It was like stepping into another world – the sunlight dappled through the leaves, casting playful patterns on the grass, and the only sounds were the gentle murmur of the water and the chirp of crickets. We spent hours there, devouring our homemade sandwiches and laughing until our sides ached. The kids were in heaven, chasing butterflies and building miniature castles out of pebbles by the water’s edge. Evenings like that, with simple pleasures and good company, are the ones I cherish most. I can’t wait for warmer weather to return so we can revisit that magical little spot and create some more happy memories.”
