IELTS Letter 11-3

Dear Sir/ Madam,

I am writing this letter to express my concern in regard to the decision to close the local sports and recreational centre.

The closing of sports centre has left everyone in a state of dismay as all the community members use this place to mingle with each other. A lot people come here to be a part of the social gathering, including me and my family members. Moreover, this is one of the few places where children come to play basket ball and soccer.

This sports and leisure centre is really important to foster mental and social well being of people. As you know, indulging in sports and recreational activities give birth to healthy society. Therefore, this centre carries a lot of significance for every age group in this area.

However, if the centre is to close, many of us will become a victim of sedentary lifestyle because of no physical activity. Besides, the children will no longer participate in outdoor activities and the elders will have no place to socialize. Thus, it is imperative to keep the centre open.

I hope you will reconsider your decision.
