IELTS Letter Writing : letter to the course director at the cookery school

You recently did a short cookery course. The cookery school has asked for your feedback on this course.
Write a letter to the course director at the cookery school. In your letter,

  • describe what you enjoyed about the course
  • say how much cooking you’ve done since the course
  • suggest another cookery course you’d like the school to offer

Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to share my reviews about your cookery school.

Initially, I was a little skeptical about joining a cooking school, however once I started learning different methods of cooking, I was thrilled. I must applaud the great staff you have who train all the amateur cooks in such a simplified manner with due patience and friendliness. Moreover, I not only learned about cooking North Indian cuisines but also gained knowledge about food safety rules.

Ever since I took the course I have been preparing all the meals at my home. On any special occasions, for instance, my family recommends me to make the dishes instead of any professional chef. I feel all the techniques that were taught in the school helped me to excel in my culinary skills.

During the course, I felt that the school should also come up with a baking course in addition to preparing the main course. These days a lot of people are interested in making desserts and cakes to compliment their meals. Therefore, I think it will be a great idea if school introduces such a course.

Thank you for a wonderful course.

Yours sincerely,
Preet Sohi
