Overall, it is apparent that maximum percentage of water is utilized for agricultural use in all the regions except North America and Europe where it is mostly used by industries.
It is vivid that North America and Europe have similar consumption of water where the biggest proportion is used for industries sector, accounting nearly to 50% and the least is used for domestic use. On the contrary, South Americans show a reverse trend where greatest proportion of water is used for agriculture and only 10% for industries. However, household water use is highest in South America at 19% than any other part of the world.
A significant proportion of water is used agriculture in Africa, Central Asia and South East Asia accounting to 84%, 88% and 81% respectively. Same percentage of water is used for residential purpose in Central Asia and South East Asia, that is 7% while, it is 2% more in Africa. The water used for industrial purpose varies from 5% to 12% in Central Asia, Africa and South East Asia.
