The graph below shows the average monthly change in the prices of three metals during 2014.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The information illustrated in the line graph gives insights into the mean monthly variations in percentages of the prices of three metals namely, copper, nickel, zinc in the year 2014.
To begin with, it is evident in the first glance that the starting difference range for all three was quite wide, but the closing range was very much around the same range. Firstly, nickel started at a higher level of around change of 6% from previous year and then observed a significant fall to -3% in June. Later in the year, it recovered and finished at 1% , which is 5% down from the beginning of year. On the contrary, for copper and zinc the pattern was quite stable with few ups and downs during the year, but not many fluctuations. Copper started the year at 2% and then varied in the range of -1% to 2% during the year and then, finally closed the year at around 1.5% from November 2014. In a similar fashion, the zinc took off from a level of 1 and finished the journey at 2% gain in December 2014.
Overall, over the full year, the least variation and most stability was seen for copper , on the other hand, nickel had the most fluctuating pattern and saw the largest fall amongst all three.
