Overall, it is apparent that the rentals saw a downward trend in the given years. Moreover, while the use of VH5 disappeared in mid year, the Blu-ray sales emerged in that time period.
In 2002, rentals stood at around 180,000 followed by a gradual dip to the reach the lowest value at 60,000 in 2011. VH5 followed the same pattern starting from 80,000 in 2002, vanishing in 2006 after decreasing to 500 in 2005.
On the other hand, Blu-ray sales initiated in 2007 with only sales under 10000. However, the Blu-ray saw a steady but marginal increase from 2008 to 2011 amounting to 15000 in the last year. DVDs were the dominant category in all the years. The sales went up from approximately 50000 in 2002 to a peak of 200,000 in 2007. Despite witnessing a constant drop in the subsequent years, it still remained the most popular choice at 180,000 in 2011.
