• where you met him/her.
• what subject he/she taught.
• what was special about him/her.

and explain why this person influenced you so much.

Sample Answer:

All throughout my student life I have been taught and instructed by many teachers. I consider all of them to be exceptionally well. Here I would like to talk about Mr. Raman, who has been a remarkable mentor and has an everlasting influence on my studies.

I met Mr. Raman for the first time when I was in grade 8. He was my mathematics teacher. At the starting, I thought him to be very strict and tough, maybe because of his looks and dress up but eventually he turned out to be very amiable. I would like to mention that his method of teaching was incredibly unique as he converted every complex problem into simple ones within seconds, which made things very understandable for all students. Moreover, he never got tired of explaining things time and again.

I would say he had a great impact on my academic career by establishing a solid foundation of the subject. Initially I always had a fear of maths and it is only because of Mr. Raman that I could overcome it. His constant push and encouraging nature truly inspired me to become an expert in mathematics. Also as a human, he was very helpful and generous leaving deep imprints on every student’s heart. Million thanks to him for being such a phenomenal teacher.
