Some people work harder than others. What are the reasons? Is it positive or negative?

Working hard in my opinion means working for extended periods of time and putting in more effort. some individuals are highly motivated by what they do and show more effort. it is overall positive for society. However, it may have some negative consequences for the individual, depending on their current understanding of life.
There are multiple reasons explaining why some people work hard for example, they love what they do or believe in benefit their work provides to the society. They may also have some extrinsic motivations such as they want the benefits working more provides which in our case will be more. They may also have some safety needs like having enough funds to support their family or loved ones in times of need or could simply have higher consumption desire.
It is usually positive but could be negative for the individual if they are only working hard to purchase stuff to impress others. This may lead them into downward spiral of competing with their neighbours, peers or friends and they may end up in never ending rat race.
In conclusion, working hard because one loves his work and takes pride in his work is a beautiful thing. However, if one only works hard to impress others or wants to buy their way to happiness, then it is a disastrous mindset in my opinion.
