Answer:

The three pie charts display the variations in annual expenditure of a UK school for 1981, 1991 and 2002.

Overall, it is apparent that maximum money was allocated on teachers’ salary whereas the least was spent on insurance for all the given years.

Teachers’ salary constituted a significant proportion of annual expenditure in all the years, accounting to 40%, 50% and 45% in 1981, 1991, 2001 respectively. Other workers’ salaries dropped with the years with 28% in 1981, to 22% in 1991 and it further decreased to 15% in 2002. Percentage of money spent on furniture and equipment was 15% in 1981, however it saw a substantial decline to only 5% in 1991 but again rose to 23% in 2001.

Expenditure on resources such as books was 15% in 1981 and dropped to 9% in 2001 before increasing to 23% in 1991. Despite accounting to the smallest proportion, money spent on insurance increased with years, from 2% to 3% and finally to 8% in 1981,1991 and 2001 respectively.
