Sample Answer:
The line graph illustrates the nation wide use of water in different area from 1900 to 2000, while the table represents water usage in Brazil and Congo in 2000.
Overall, it is apparent that agriculture was the dominant sector to use maximum amount of water. In addition, more water was consumed in Brazil as compared to Congo.
In 1900, 500Km3 of water was used for agricultural purpose, however it increased sharply to 3000Km3 in 2000. On the contrary, amount of water consumed by industrial sector and for domestic use was relatively low. Nearly insignificant amount of water was used for these sectors from 1900 till 1920. In the following years, the water used for industries witnessed a gradual rise to about 1000 Km3 in 2000. A similar upward trend was seen in domestic usage of water which climbed up to 300Km3 in 2000.
It is vivid from the table that Brazil had a much larger population than Democratic Republic of Congo that is 176 million and 5.2 million. Likewise, irrigated land in Brazil was higher at 26,500km2 than Congo which was only 100 km2. Consequently, water consumed by an average Brazilian was considerably greater than a person who lived in Congo, at 359m3 and 8m3 respectively.
